FACILITIES
Gopher camp
will be held on the campus of the University of Minnesota. The
primary site for camp will be at the home of Minnesota
Volleyball, the Sports Pavilion.
The 5,800 seat Sports Pavilion is a volleyball specific arena.
The Sports Pavilion provides the Gopher volleyball team with a
tremendous home court advantage. Minnesota Volleyball has some
of the best fans in the country and is consistently ranked in
the Top 10 in National Attendance (Ranked #3 in the country in
2005). The Sports Pavilion is one of the best volleyball
facilities in the country and will provide a special environment
for your camp experience.
Williams Arena will serve as another site for the Gopher
Volleyball camp. Williams Arena is the home of the University of
Minnesota's basketball teams. The "barn" has a seating capacity
of 14,300. A raised court, only one of a handful in the country,
is a special feature at Williams Arena. In 2004, Williams Arena
was the site of the highest attended volleyball match in the
nation and the 5th largest regular season crowd in college
volleyball history. The 10,927 fans that witnessed the Gopher
victory shattered a 14-year old school attendance record.
Bierman Field Athletic Building and Cooke Hall will also be used
for camp. |
